Tips for Storing Your RV for Fall

For many, the start of fall signals that it’s time to put recreational vehicles (RV) in storage. If you don’t use your RV in fall or winter, it’s essential to properly prepare it for storage to avoid damage while it isn’t in use. Failing to prepare your RV for sedentary periods can result in mold, pest infestations and other types of expensive damage.

  • Run a dehumidifier in the RV for a few hours or days before storing it.
  • Place buckets of charcoal or silica gel packets throughout the RV to prevent moisture from building up and causing mold.
  • Drain all water-holding tanks to help avoid mold, mildew or algae growth.
  • Make sure tires are properly inflated to prevent flat spots.
