“We Give Back” Winner — May 2022
Mari Adam has chosen Broward Public Library Foundation to receive the $500 donation as part of Wiglesworth-Rindom’s Charity Referral Program. Mari decided on this cause because she “has always loved to read. The Broward (Ft. Lauderdale) library system does a wonderful job supporting the community.” Mari refers to programs such as the children reading programs like Books ‘n’ Bears at the Holidays, SAT/ACT Workshops for students, the Summer Learning Program, and a Workforce Ready program offering free check-outs of laptop computers for job seekers as reasons why she wants to give back to the library that gives so much to the community.
Mari is originally from Michigan; when her dad moved to Florida in the early 1960s, she witnessed firsthand the evolutions that Ft. Lauderdale and South Florida have undergone. She made Florida her home in 1992, leaving Washington DC after her daughter was born to be closer to family. She now enjoys living in Boca Raton. Mari has been a Certified Financial Planner for over 30 years; she states that she got into the field to help “people, especially women, make the most of their money and feel control.” Mari has a son and a daughter. Her son works as a flight instructor in South Florida and aspires to work with a major airline; her daughter is an engineer and focuses on sustainability efforts in California. Outside of work, Mari loves to travel and spend time with friends; a longtime fan of reading, she’s even been in the same book club for 20 years.
