Mike Diaz is our January 2020 Referral Charity Program Winner!

Mike chose St Jude Children’s Research Hospital as the recipient of the $500 charity donation.  He values their noble cause of helping people regardless of whether or not they can afford the care and strives to support them in any way he can.

Mike was born and raised in New Jersey.  He lived there all his life until a spur of the moment decision on Memorial Day of 1999 when he rode his bike to Florida to visit his mom for the weekend. While lying poolside the day before he was to return to NJ, Mike made a decision; he wasn’t going back.  So, he picked up a newspaper and secured an interview and landed a position with Kmart. Mike then returned to NJ, packed everything up and drove back to Florida to start his new job the following week. After moving to the Wyndham Lakes community in Coral Springs, Mike became friends with his neighbor, who owned a mortgage company. After getting injured at Kmart, Mike spent his downtime helping his friend at the mortgage company. Mike fell in love with the job and today he enjoys a successful career as a Mortgage Banker for CMG Financial.

He not only fell in love with his job but also met the love of his life there, Catherine. Mike became close friends with a client who later set the two up on a blind date. The rest is history as they approach their 19th anniversary with their two talented children; a 13-year-old daughter who enjoys being in her school’s glee club and band, and a nine-year-old son who practices Ju-jitsu and boxing.  Mike helps his son with practice, being able to use his 12 years of experience from serving in the United States Marine Corps.
