“We Give Back” Winner — January 2022
Sam Bronstein
Sam chose to donate $500 to the Homeless Student Project of the Education Foundation of St. Lucie County. The Education Foundation focuses on increasing public school resources and promoting education for K-12 students; the Homeless Student Project being a subset of their services where they help support and provide resources to students experiencing homelessness. Sam first learned about the project at the Democratic Women’s Club of St. Lucie County, where she learned that there are 1,800 homeless students in the county. She’s “so grateful for the opportunity to give and raise awareness since a lot of people don’t know about this issue.”
Sam is from Miami and is now enjoying retirement with her husband of 20 years, Saul. Together they travel the world to countries Sam has never heard of while Saul provides lectures about bridge on cruise ships with his expertise as a Bridge National Champion. Outside of travelling, Sam also enjoys bridge, water aerobics, working with the Democratic Women’s Club of St. Lucie County, and spending time with her daughter and granddaughter.
